In April 2018, Google announced it was rolling out a new “Pebble Beach” initiative.
The plan was to open a new resort, the first of its kind in the US, at Pebble beach resort in 2020.
It was meant to be an open, affordable resort with a full-service restaurant, a spa, a fitness centre, and a rooftop garden.
In a post on the Google Plus social network, the company wrote: “With the Pebble Beach Resort coming online, we are making an even bigger leap forward in bringing the best of the future into the present.
Pebble Beach is our ultimate destination for those who enjoy the outdoors, love our beaches, and want to explore new experiences.”
The post went on to explain the reasons behind the new venture, including the following: Pebble Beach’s proximity to downtown San Diego, and its close proximity to a large international tourist hub.
This new destination will have a more intimate feel and feel a bit like a community meeting space.
Pebble’s proximity and the fact that it’s in the heart of San Diego is what made us feel like we could stay longer at this place.
This will be our first resort at Pebble, and it will bring us into San Diego in a way that hasn’t been done before.
