Pebbles CEO Marc Randazza said on Wednesday that the company has purchased PebbleTimeSteel, a “new, premium, highly functional, and incredibly versatile” timepiece that “has been designed with Apple Watch in mind”.
“We’re extremely proud of Pebble TimeSteel, and we look forward to working with Apple to continue to make it even better for Apple Watch,” he said.
Pebbles, which is best known for its Pebble Time smartwatch, has said it is exploring the Pebble Watch Series 3, which could be launched this summer.
The Pebble Time Series 3 is the company’s first smartwatch that does not feature a 3D touch display.
Pegs, which has been in development for over two years, was founded by Pebble co-founder and former Apple boss Eric Migicovsky.
Pebble was acquired by Facebook for $2 billion in 2014.
